We here at Revel have been honored to plan multiple weddings for the Groom’s family members, so when we got the call that Spencer was getting married in Texas we were ecstatic! Lindsey and Spencer met only months before their big day, but they knew that it was a forever love and were ready to get married.
With only four months to plan, we immediately hopped on a plane to meet them in Austin, Texas to tour their venue, meet florists, and attend their tasting. We had boots on the ground for 36 hours before flying back to Arizona. Over the next few months, we planned their wedding from 900 miles away.
They chose a venue full of character in Dripping Springs, called Camp Lucy. Only an hour outside of Austin, this hidden gem expertly blends luxe and rustic charm.
The ancient oaks that surround the property are the venue's stars as their grand trunks and elegant twisted branches are thoughtfully enveloped with thousands of perfect, tiny lights, creating a truly magical ceremony site.
Whim Hospitality provided catering, rentals, and florals, customizing every aspect of Lindsey and Spencer’s wedding to fit their personalities—they even prepared chicken and waffles as a passed appetizer!
On January 19, their wedding day began with beautiful blues skies and cool weather. Right before the ceremony began, winds of up to 30 mph began, blowing over floral pieces and every cocktail table on the lawn. Fortunately, the Bride and Groom had faith that it would subside, and they were right —minutes before Lindsey walked down the aisle there was an indescribable calmness that covered the venue. After the ceremony, everyone bundled up for the outdoor cocktail hour, enjoying the view and loving on the new couple.
Dinner, toasts, and dancing filled the night with love and joy. At the end of the night, the new Mr. and Mrs. shared one last dance alone in the reception room as every guest lined up outside with sparklers. They ran through to their getaway limo as their loved ones cheered for them!
It was an amazing start to the year 2019. We have been so blessed to work with the same families time and time again, and have been on some of the best journeys because of it. Although Camp Lucy is nothing like what we have in Arizona, it expanded our purview and gave us new ideas to bring back to the desert!
Congratulations to the new Mr. + Mrs. Rothery!
