Augenie and Derrick's Tradition Filled Rehearsal Dinner

The Scottsdale area is home to so many fun restaurants and hotels to host rehearsal dinners and welcome parties. Out of towners especially love experiencing places that are unique to AZ. This sweet couple landed on The Henry, which was the perfect spot to welcome their guests and surprise them with cultural elements that were special to the two of them.

Augenie and Derrick set a refined but playful tone for their guests with this welcome dinner. Guests poured onto the patio and greeted one another, all filled with excitement for the weekend ahead. Augenie was a vision in white and Derrick looked sleek in his suit. After a while, the couple changed into kaftans and an Egyptian belly dancer danced into the dinner. Everyone’s jaw dropped—but that wasn’t the end! The guests were then able to experience henna together, which is an Egyptian tradition the night before the wedding to wish the bride and groom good health and prosperity as they journey on to marriage! Both the bride and groom apply henna on their hands, and then the rest is offered to the guests. This moment was a favorite of the night, since the bride kept it completely secret. It was evident Augenie loved answering questions and seeing everyone’s eyes light up!

Marriage has the power to bring so many cultures together, and this couple beautifully honored theirs.
